Rev. Steven Conger was appointed as pastor of Ridge Church in June,
1998. Prior to coming to Munster he was pastor of Simpson United
Methodist in Fort Wayne, Indiana; and prior to that he started
Celebration Methodist Church in Warsaw, Indiana.

Steve grew up in the United Methodist Church in the suburbs of
Chicago. He graduated from Northern Illinois University and has a
Masters degree from Duke University.

Steve is very involved in the Munster community.  He is a member and
past president of Munster Rotary, Munster Education Foundation, Jim
and Betty Dye Foundation, the Lake County Public Library Foundation,
Munster Police Chaplain, and on the Board of Directors of the Munster
Chamber of Commerce.  Since September 2008, he helped create
and has served as President of the Board of LARRI (Lakeshore Area
Regional Recovery of Indiana) a group of concerned individuals and
organizations that is helping families recover from the September 2008
floods.

In January, 2007 Steve was named Citizen of the Year by the Munster
Chamber of Commerce.

Steve and Nancy have three girls, Jessica, Lindsey and Haley and a
dog Ezekiel (Zeke). Jessica is a graduate of Butler University,  Lindsey
is a sophomore at Indiana University in the Kelley School of Business
and Haley is a senior at Munster High School.  Nancy is the librarian at
Eads School in Munster.  Steve loves to play golf, read, attend plays,
and watch Duke basketball.

In 2006 Pastor Steve went on a three and a half month sabbatical.
