Kathy O'Brien joined the Ridge Church staff in the fall of 2001 as
the Director of Christian Education and Caring Ministries. Her
creativity and enthusiasm seem to follow her and is known as the
"Ridgechurchlady". You never know just what to expect when she's
around, but one thing for sure is that you won't be bored!
Kathy grew up in Northwest Indiana and her earliest memories are
of those spent at church. She vividly remembers when she was no
more than two years old when her Sunday School teacher taught
her how much God loved her by singing "Jesus Loves Me". Kathy
attended Ball State University and Purdue Calumet, and majored in
Elementary Education and Sociology. She served on the staff at
Woodmar United Methodist Church as Director of Congregational
Care before coming to Ridge Church.
Kathy lives with her husband of 35 years Don, their daughter Amy
and "granddog" Bailey. Her other two children, Lori and Shawn and
their families also live close by. When she's not being the
"Ridgechurchlady", Kathy is Grandma to Elizabeth and Katie. You
might be interested to know that Kathy is also a huge fan of Jimmy
Buffett and has the parrot hat to prove it!
