An important part of connecting with and belonging to a church family is to be involved in some form of small
group or a study that allows you to strengthen your relationship with God as you grow in relationship with others.
At Ridge Church we offer a variety of opportunities for people to be involved in groups like this and we are
always open to new groups forming to meet the needs of our members and friends.
Below is a sampling of some of the groups and studies that are available for different ages. If you would like to
learn more about any of these opportunities you can call the church office (219.838.4770). There are also

Disciple Bible Study
Each year Ridge Church offers Disciple Bible Study. There are four different courses, each about 32 weeks
long, that are offered on a rotating basis. These studies provide a great opportunity to get to know the other
people in your class as well as the opportunity to greatly increase your understanding of the Bible. You can
contact Kathy O'Brien, our Minister of Assimilation and Worship Planning, if you have questions or would like to
learn more about current and upcoming classes.
Led By Thread
This new group is open to anyone who knits, crochets, does needlepoint or cross stitch. Just bring any project
you are working on, and join us. We meet the 4th Tuesday of each month in room 106. If you would like to learn
to knit, we can teach you the basics. If you have questions or would like to learn more you can contact Nancy
Caddick.
Men's Bible Study
On Thursday mornings at 7:00 am a group of men meet in the Parlor for Bible Study and prayer. Men of any
age are invited to join this group as they read through the scriptures and journey through life with one another.
We end each morning by 8:00 am so that people can get to work or on with their days. If you would like more
information you can contact Richard Kitchell at 923-5513.
Men's Group
Our Men's Group meets for a breakfast meeting at 8:00 am in the church fellowship hall on the third Saturday of
each month. The meetings include speakers, devotionals, and plans for upcoming activities in the church and
in the greater community. Any man interested in growing in their faith and serving God is invited to join this

United Methodist Women
Ridge Church currently has three different United Methodist Women's circles (groups). These groups meet in
the homes of members and at the church and are used as a means for spiritual growth, education, and social
action. They are open to women of all ages and new members are always welcome. If you'd like more
information, you can contact our chaiperson, Marge Forsythe, at 836-5467.
Women's Bible Study
This diverse group of women meets every Tuesday from 9:30-11:00 in the Parlor. It is the perfect place for
women of any age who are looking for warm and supportive relationships with other women, relevant
information about God and the Bible, and encouragement while facing the challenges of daily life. For more
information contact Beth Kitchell at 923-5513.
Wrestling With God
This class was put together by Pastor Steve on his Sabbatical during the summer and fall of 2006. It meets
weekly and allows participants to ask and wrestle with questions of faith. It is the perfect class for you if you like
to be challenged, if you have a lot of questions, or if you are curious about the ways in which God is at work in
the world. If you'd like to learn about upcoming classes you can email Pastor Steve.
Young Adult Ministry - Dalit
Ridge UMC, along with several other area churches, supports Dalit. Dalit is a ministry for young adults in
Northwest Indiana that meets on Monday evenings for fellowship, worship, study, and growth. They also
participate in service projects throughout the year. For more information visit Dalit's myspace.
Youth BS (Bible Study)
Each Wednesday afternoon during the summer Ridge Youth gather in the Youth Room at 12:30 PM for a late
lunch and an opportunity to BS with one another. It is a great opportunity for support, growth with friends, and
